As far as I'm aware, there aren't any paved roads on Antarctica - well, not just yet anyway… However, there does seem to be plans afoot to build some sort of TransAntarctic highway from the main US base at McMurdo Sound to Scott-Amundsen base at the South Pole. I can't see how or why anyone would want to pave a road in Antarctica though. Keeping that clear would have to be the antipodean equivalent of painting the Forth Road Bridge… with a toothbrush.

Rest assured dear reader; should anyone decide to build a paved road in Antarctica, I'll do my utmost to find out it's highest point above sea-level, don my favourite pair of thermal y-fronts and head off into the icy wastes.
